Qian Linmao reported on three aspects: the general idea and main tasks of the development of the college, the main work carried out in the near future, the next work plan and the challenges faced. He pointed out that the general idea of the development of the college is to meet the national strategic needs of "Made in China 2025" and "transportation power the country", and to create a learning, service-oriented and innovative first-class college in an all-round way with first-class teachers, first-class platforms, first-class scientific research, first-class achievements, first-class management support and first-class talent training. Qian Linmao reported in detail the recent work of the college from six aspects, namely, the construction of first-class discipline, party construction, scientific research platform, talent work, comprehensive reform and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the mechanical discipline. He indicated that in the next step, the college will comprehensively promote the construction of first-class disciplines, vigorously strengthen the work of talents, steadily advance the comprehensive reform, raise funds for running the school through multiple channels, comprehensively strengthen the training of talents, and actively build a service-oriented college.
At the meeting, professor Wang Jiaxiu, vice presidents Ding Guofu and Tian Huaiwen, director Gao Hongli and deputy secretary Meng Fanchun put forward suggestions and ideas on the development advantages and direction of the school's disciplines, research platform and resource investment, faculty building, teaching facilities and student work.
After listening to the mechanical engineering school report, Yang Dan made a summary speech.He first affirmed the importance of The School of Mechanics as a traditional engineering school of Jiaotong University. The school has a long history, a solid foundation, a very advantageous talent team, and the school's various work systems in place, very detailed and practical.Yang Dan pointed out that, as a century-old college, the College of Machinery must firmly grasp the great opportunity of "Made in China 2025" and "transportation power", and should combine its own discipline characteristics, condense the national demand, and develop the heavy equipment of a big country.In view of "rail transit neck jam problem" and "high-speed rail safety problem", it is necessary to give full play to its own advantages and characteristics and fully complement and cooperate with the State key laboratory of traction power.We should attach great importance to the construction of teaching staff, especially young teachers to give full play to the potential of school teachers, increase efforts to introduce more academic leaders, and cultivate more academic leaders.
